H-BOAT

The H-Boat is a one-design keelboat designed by Finnish Hans Groop in 1967, with some minor modifications by Paul Elvstrøm in 1971. The boat gained international status in 1977. Since 1967 over 5000 hulls have been made,[1] making it one of the most popular yacht classes in the world. The boat is mostly sailed and raced in Nordic countries and Central Europe, although there are a few boats in the UK and the US. It is still a popular cruising/racing yacht, with 69 boats participating in 2007 H-boat World Championships.​
The official race crew consists of three persons. Women and juniors are allowed to have a fourth crew member in competitions. The H-boat has sleeping bunks for up to four persons. As a cruising yacht, the boat is suitable for 2-5 persons.​
Used H-boats are fairly inexpensive, so it is popular for people looking for their first yacht. Major manufacturers of H-Boats have been Eagle Marine (Finland), Elvstrøm (Denmark), Scanboat (Åland), Hydrospeed (Finland), Artekno (Finland), Botnia Marin (Finland), O.L. Boats (Denmark), Ott Yacht (Germany) and Frauscher (Austria).

HISTORY
The Hans Groop-designed H-boat won a Finnish design competition for a GRP one-design fleet racer with spinnaker in 1967 and production started in 1970 by the Finnish builder Artekno.
The H in the name "H-boat" came from the Greek mythology goddess Hestia. During the first three years, 500 boats were sold.
In 1971, Elvstrøm started production of the H-boat with some modifications on rudder and mast and in 1977 Botnia.

Alle donne e agli juniores è concesso avere un quarto membro a bordo. L’H-boat prevede cuccette per fino a 4 persone. Come barca a vela, l’H-boat può accogliere da 2 a 5 persone.
Si possono trovare H-boat di seconda mano a buon prezzo. È quindi comune scegliere un’H-boat come primo yatch.

STORIA
L’H-boat progettata da Hans Groop vinse nel 1967 una competizione finlandese di design per una monotipo in vetroresina con spinnaker. Nel 1970 il costruttore finlandese Artekno ne avviò la produzione.
La H nel nome H-boat deriva dalla dea greca Hestia. Già nei primi tre anni furono vendute 500 imbarcazioni.
Nel 1971 Elvstrøm avviò la produzione di H-boat con alcune modifiche su timone e albero, nel 1977 fu il turno di Botnia.

Seit 1967 wurden mehr als 5000 Boote gebaut werden und das H-Boot wurde zu einem der berühmtesten Segeljachten in der ganzen Welt. Das Boot wird besonders in nordischen Länder und Mitteleuropa gesegelt, trotzdem kann man auch H-Boote im Vereinigten Königreich und in den USA finden. Das H-Boot ist noch sehr berühmt und an WM 2007 nahmen 69 Boote teil. Für eine offizielle Regatta besteht die Crew aus drei Personen. Frauen und Junioren können auch ein viertes Mitglied an Bord haben. Das H-Boot kann bis 4 Schlafkojen haben und kann bis 5 Leute fassen.
Gebrauchte H-Boote können auch sehr preiswert sein, deswegen ist es auch üblich, dass Leute sich für ein H-Boot als erste Jacht entscheiden. DIE GESCHICHTE
1967 gewann das von Hans Groop entwickelte H-Boot bei einem finnischen Design-Wettbewerb für eine GFK Einheitsklasse-Boot mit Spinnaker. 1970 begann Artekno die Produktion von H-Boote. Das H in H-Boote steht für die griechische Göttin Hestia.
Während der ersten drei Jahre wurden mehr als 500 Boote verkauft. 1971 begann Elvstrøm die Produktion von H-Boot mit einigen Umänderungen am Ruder und Mast. 1977 fang auch Botnia an, H-Boote zu herstellen.
